We will learn about common mistakes in 401(k) plan administration, including failures and errors.

Our speaker, Galen Hsieh, Revenue Agent, will go over how these mistakes are found, how they are corrected under the IRS correction program, and suggest ways to avoid these mistakes.

Galen Hsieh has worked for the Employee Plan Examination Division of the IRS since 2006 after graduating from the University of San Diego with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. His job involves examining retirement plans to ensure that they comply with the law. He has experience examining profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans, defined benefits plans, and SIMPLE IRAs.    

This lunch meeting will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, 7450 Hazard Center Drive, San Diego, California 92108. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for registration and networking, and the presentation will run from noon to approximately 1:00 p.m.
